This permanent role can be based in Bristol with regular travel to Milton Keynes and supported by the Head of Service Management who is based in Bristol.  This individual will own the overall responsibility for the coordination of Service Design and Enablement as a function.  This includes working collaboratively with the other teams within Service Management, Service Management Centre (24/7/365), Service operations and Service Strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the personnel assigned to the roles within Change control, Service Level Management and Service Design. To include but not limited to enhancement and mentoring to ensure continual personal development. Personal HR requirements, including leave, appraisal and workday reporting. Organisational HR requirements including individual refocusing of effort where required.
  • Manage the Service Level Management practice to exploit available toolsets to deliver metrics and data analysis against contractual obligations and BDUK internal services.
  • Manage the Service Level Management practice to ensure the delivery of outcomes as per contractual obligations and internal agreements.
  • Manage the Service Level Management practice ensuring timely analysis of SLA breaches for acceptance of genuine failure or collation and submission of extenuating circumstances documentation.
  • Manage the Service Level Management practice to ensure collation of Performance Failure Report and Performance Review Board presentations against internal and external requirements.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • ITIL- Managing Across the lifecycle (ITIL 3 Expert)
  • Advanced ITIL4 qualifications
  • Service Management toolset knowledge, significantly Service Management Automation-X
  • Understanding of MOD and Defence contractual obligations
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of ISO Standards and Audit process
