We’re looking for a talented and seasoned Senior Animator & Rigger to breathe life into the heroes, villains, creatures, and environments for a new R&D game project. Leveraging your technical and artistic skills paired with a phenomenal understanding of traditional and 3D animation techniques, you will partner with a multidisciplinary team of artists, designers, and engineers to create kinetically satisfying moment to moment gameplay and develop richly immersive settings.

Responsibilities Include

  • Create character, object, and environment 3D rigs and animations using 3D content creation software (Maya, 3DS Max, or equivalent)
  • Contribute to rapid prototyping and early visualization efforts by conceiving and creating real-time, block-in, 3D rig and animation assets
  • Help establish and evolve our rigging and animation tools and pipeline
  • Work with game designers to understand and fulfill the needs of gameplay
  • Collaborate with teammates by providing and receiving creative/team feedback, plus’ing others’ creative contributions, and providing clear goals with intentionally desired outcomes

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has shipped multiple games in an animation role
  • Has expertise in:
  • Using 3D Content Creation Software, such as Maya or 3DS Max
  • Developing in modern engines, such as Unreal or Unity
  • Building for multiple platforms: mobile, PC, consoles
  • Utilizes outstanding critical thinking skills to translate gameplay needs into animations that work within specific in-game contexts
  • Thrives as a member of a cross functional multidisciplinary team
  • Communicates with authenticity, intention, and curiosity
  • Gets excited by learning new skills, dashing to pitch in, even if this means flexing beyond this role’s core responsibilities if it can help us win
  • Plays broadly across multiple games of varied genres
  • Works effectively off site on shared projects
