Job Summary
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for detail-oriented, organized, and responsible individuals who are eager to learn how to work with large and complicated data sets. Some knowledge of econometrics, as well as basic familiarity with Python, R or Stata is necessary, and experience with SQL and UNIX would be a plus. These are full-time positions at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis. You will learn how to build data sets and perform applied econometric analysis at Internet speed collaborating with economists, scientists, and product managers. These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement. - Build econometric models to estimate the impacts of various programs on key business metrics to improve decision quality
- Leverage large and complex data sets to drive business insights
- Communicate insights to key business stakeholders
About The Team
Amazon Perfect Order Experience (POE) strives to provide customers a delightful shopping journey on Amazon by guaranteeing that when customers do place an order they have a worry-fee experience and receive authentic and safe products. We heavily rely on data and creatively build science and tech savvy solutions at scale for evaluating and optimizing programs.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD student in Economics (enrolled in 3rd year or more and not currently on the job market)
- Familiarity with Python/R/Stata, or other similar programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL
- Familiarity with UNIX
- Experience in applied economic analysis
- Experience with large data sets
- Knowledge of econometrics
- Knowledge of machine learning
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
