A day in the life…

This internship will provide the intern with the opportunity to learn from the Publicity, Awards, Events, & Talent Relations team for 20th Television, 20th Television Animation and ABC Signature. The intern will explore all aspects of the Publicity, Events, & Talent Relations team such as daily press tracking, assisting with social media, and coordinating special event execution (i.e., Walk of Fame Events, Emmy’s, Award Shows, and talent giftings).

Interns are provided tangible on-the-job experience with opportunities to observe and participate in as many facets of Publicity as possible so they can understand what a career in Television publicity would entail at a highly regarded studio. The intern will learn basic publicity skills, learn to craft pitches, advance their knowledge of entertainment press opportunities, and understand the planning & execution of event planning.

Responsibilities :

 

  • Track online and print press coverage for daily clip packet
  • Update Talent Contact Sheets
  • Research current Talent and EP’s for gifting
  • Create materials for Events
  • Research and track Award Nomination Announcements
  • Maintain entry grids and supporting materials for Award Submissions
  • Provide help for events as needed, including preparation
  • Various administrative duties as needed

Basic Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of entertainment publicity, media outlets, talent, agencies
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and effectively problem solve.
  • Responsible, dependable, and organized with excellent communication/writing skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments by deadline.
  • An ability to work as a team player.
  • Enthusiastic to learn all aspects of the job

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Desired majors – PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, etc.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and able to adapt.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Photoshop skills a plus

Required Education :

 

  • Junior or Senior or recent graduate

Additional Information :

Internship Eligibility:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Unrestricted work authorization
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or recently graduated within six months at the time of application.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June – January 2023.
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week), flexibility with evenings/weekends for events for the duration of the internship.
  • Must be based in Los Angeles.
